Content Management Systems

Most site development will be done using a CMS or content management system (the particular CMS will be determined by your specific needs, budget, and hosting arrangements).  A CMS enables the site owner to make most content changes themselves using a simple browser based interface…no website design experience is required.  The content management system separates the website content from the design which means the end user can feel confident in making routine changes to the site content, posts (blog), images, etc. without disturbing the overall design of the website.  Naturally I am here to assist you and perform the updates if you so choose, but it’s nice to have a choice!

Once you are my client I will provide access to a group of tutorials and reference tools that will help you in getting started maintaining your website.  If you have any questions I’m only an email or phone call away!

HTML Website Conversion to a Content Management System

I offer a content management system that many of my clients are utilizing in which their existing static HTML website is developed into a limited scope content management system.  The site owner simply visits the website, selects a section or image to edit, and then begins making their changes, quickly and easily.  Your website remains securely with your original hosting provider or with me, and access to your content is password protected.  I will setup all of the details, users, etc. to enable you to access your website from anywhere you have an internet connection.  All I need are a few details regarding your hosting account to establish this service.  Some limitations apply, so please contact me for details and a price quote.

Website Hosting

For my design clients I offer the first year of hosting at no charge (if you host elsewhere you are responsible for those hosting fees, sorry I don’t discount your design fees for the amount of hosting).  Your hosting rate is $84.00 per year afterward.  I encourage you to host your site with 54 Design Group, LLC simply to ensure that should something need attention with your site that you are unable to correct, I will be able to provide assistance quickly.

Email Accounts

All of our hosting accounts include sufficient email accounts for you and all of your staff members.

Domain Name Registration

If you don’t already have one you will need a domain name and it’s not necessary to purchase your domain name where you are obtaining your hosting.  I provide domain registration for $20.00 per year for most domain names, that includes the domain registration and configuring the DNS settings to point to our hosting services.  I will also configure your email accounts and setup SPAM protection for your email. Those with specialty addresses may have a higher registration fee, I’ll let you know before your domain is reserved.
